JEWISH SURVIVAL IN THE WORLD TODAY
A Saga of 4000 Years by Bernard J. Shapiro January 27, 2013 FREEMAN CENTER FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES P.O. Box 35661 Houston, Texas 77235-5661 E-mail: bernards@sbcglobal.net OUR WEB SITE < www.freeman.org > http://www.freeman.org/serendipity/index.php?/archives/482-JEWISH-SURVIVAL-IN-THE-WORLD.html The article, Christians Are Guilty of the Holocaust, by Giulio Meotti in Arutz Sheva yesterday is both painful and necessary for all Jews and Christians to read: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/12784 While I have studied this history over many years, his article was tough for even a scholar to fathom. The Catholic Church was as bad as Jews believed possible, but Lutheranism was worse. Please read his article at the end of my commentary. As I have written many times before, I fear a Second Holocaust. The reasons for this fear are many and well substantiated. The level of anti-Semitism is rising rapidly and have now reached the level of the 1930's. There are four kinds of anti-Semitism that today are mixing in today’s world into a toxic formula for Jews. They are: 1. Traditional European Nationalist anti-Semitism. Jews are seen as a foreign race affecting the purity of the various nations. 2. The Christian religion, evolving between Catholic and protestant Jew haters. Various sects believe in the false accusations of deicide, blood libel and devil worship. Some just simply "replacement theology" (G-d’s Israel is replaced by Christians). 3. The Islamic religious traditions based on the Koran. The Islamist philosophy ranks all nations servants of the true religion founded by Muhammad. It is a cruel and cold faith where murderers of Jews, Christians, Hindus and other non-Moslems are insured a place in paradise. 4. Once Jews became sovereign in their own land as the Holy Scriptures predicted, many non Jews began to fear retribution for the evil they meted out to the Jews over the last 3500 years. ISRAEL'S 'FUTILE GESTURES'
By Charles Bybelezer September 6, 2012 -Daily Mailer, FrontPage Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to extend well-wishes on the occasion of Id al-Fitr, the Muslim holiday marking the end of Ramadan. He did so despite the fact that Abbas continues to shun negotiations with the Jewish state and again has threatened to pursue a unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood at the UN General Assembly in September. Netanyahu’s “goodwill gesture” reportedly was followed by similar phone calls to Abbas by Israeli envoy Yitzhak Molcho and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak. Molcho also called PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad. The calls came on the heels of other goodwill gestures made by Israel over the last few months aimed at coaxing the Palestinians back to the negotiating table; including, but not limited to: 1. The issuance of thousands of additional Israeli work permits to Palestinian laborers; 2. The advance to the PA on the eve of Ramadan of approximately NIS 200 million in levies collected by Israel on behalf of the Palestinians so that government salaries could be paid; 3. The signing of an economic accord with the PA in order to enhance trade; 4. The signing of a deal to end a hunger strike by Palestinians jailed in Israel, in which Israel even agreed to allow convicted terrorists to pursue academic studies; 5. The tabling of an offer, confirmed by PA Minister of Prisoner Affairs Issa Qaraqe, to release in four stages 125 Palestinian security prisoners, many of whom were convicted of murdering Israelis (the proposal was summarily rejected by Abbas, who demanded the prisoners be released simultaneously); 6. The transfer to the PA of the bodies of approximately 90 deceased terrorists, whose remains subsequently were glorified en masse in official ceremonies. Continue reading "ISRAEL'S 'FUTILE GESTURES' "

YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE
by Jack Berger Member of the Board of Directors Freeman Center For Strategic Studies October 17, 2011 “You are standing today, all of you (all generations) before Hashem, your G-d, from the heads of your tribes, your elders… your children… from the (highest) in society… to the drawer of your water, for you to pass into the covenant Hashem, your G-d in order to establish you today as a people to Him and that He will be a G-d to you… I call on heaven and earth today to bear witness against you. I have placed life and death before you, a blessing and a curse, you shall choose life so that you will live… to dwell on the land that I swore to your forefathers (to your fathers and grandfathers) and to Abraham, Isaac and to Jacob.” (Deut. 29-30) Looking at the world today I think back to the words of Charles Dickens, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us…” When I first read those words in high school, I believed that they were far removed from the rest of my life. America was in a simpler place. My only serious question was why wouldn’t Sandy Koufax pitch the first game of the World Series … after all was Yom Kippur really that big a deal and it wasn’t like he wore a kippah and kept kosher. It was a time when questions hadn’t been asked yet and didn’t need to be answered. Today has caught up with yesterday. For me, years before my Bar Mitzvah, I remember the words on our Day of Atonement. Words when secular Jewish friends of mine only came to synagogue one day a year – would show up on Yom Kippur to hear– “who will live and who will die…” The profundity of that one line and its finite reality, its focus, its simple yet unambiguous statement… is a statement that few Jews can turn away from or forget. The gift we have been given is the gift of time – money comes, money goes, our days are moments as part of an eternity that we are only blessed to know for a very short time. ISRAEL INDEPENDENCE AFTER 63 YEARS
by Bernard J. Shapiro Freeman Center For Strategic Studies May 9, 2011 No one should fool themselves into thinking that giving the Arabs of Judea and Samaria Jordanian citizenship would solve anything in the long run. Jordan is not as friendly (population wise) as we are led to believe. Though the government is helpful and friendly, that could change in the blink of an eye. Should American troops leave Iraq and it falls to Iran, the consequences would be severe for Israel. With Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza under Iranian control, it could easily extend its reach to Jordan and the Judean-Samarian ridge overlooking Israel's vulnerable coast. My Bottom Line (Conclusion) Israel's central problem is psychological and no amount of beautiful rhetoric and wonderful proposals can change that. When will the Nationalist Camp realize that we are "at war already" with the PLO/Hamas/Hezbollah supporting tyranny (the LEFT) that rules Israel? At what point will Israelis realize that the CIVIL WAR they fear, IS ALREADY TAKING PLACE AND THEY ARE LOSING? When will the true Zionists take over Israel and rid the country of the Arab and Jewish traitors. After 2000 years of homelessness, we are privaliged in this generation to see a new and productive Jewish State. Why do we let these evildoers threaten to take it from our hands. FATEFUL DECISION COMING
by David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic Studies April 24, 2011 "The question is whether PM Netanyahu's next proposal will mark a new direction in negotiation -- one that walks Israel back from earlier surrender agreements that should be declared nul and void on grounds of the perfidious performance of the Arab enemy." It has been PM Netanyahu's unhappy lot that he has been the one called on to make fateful decisions for Israel and the Jewish people. Maybe that statment should be corrected that it is Israel and the Jewish people's unhappy lot that it is he that is called on to decide these issues for them. Reflecting on what has happened, he has not done well for them. One need only recall that in his first term as PM, elected to stand fast on behalf of Israel against the Oslo process that was delivering Israel into the hands of those that sought to destroy the nation, he failed to stop it in its tracks and even expanded it by contributing the early surrender of additional large portions of Hebron to the Arabs. A decade later, after running on another right wing program, he became the first Israeli leader to subscibe to a Palestinian State. Leading up to this, he was also for the surrender of Gaza, the very surrender that brought Israel's southern cities under Arab bombardment. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth... ...Plato
"The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see." ... Ayn Rand ====================== TWO ARTICLES: DEFENSE VS. OFFENSE DM EHUD BARAK VS. BERNARD J. SHAPIRO Barak has raised the idea of a separation between the PA and Israel. It is not a new idea and as far back as 1995 I explained why it won't work. Here is that article. Today in 2011 his big "idea" is missile shields. They won't work either. Anit-missiles systems are very expensive and the terrorists can keep producing thousands of cheap missiles to overwhelm them. SEPARATION & SECURITY FENCES The Primary Fallacy By Bernard J. Shapiro (1995) Freeman Center For Strategic Studies The Maccabean Online The idea of separation has much appeal to an Israeli population feeling threat0ened daily by hostile Arabs. The Israeli government recently advanced an elaborate plan to construct hi-tech fences and new military checkpoints between Israel and the Palestinian West Bank in an effort to reduce the risk of militant violence. Israeli security officials brought the plan before the Knesset a day after Islamic extremists opened fire on an Israeli bus near the West Bank town of Hebron, killing two Jewish settlers and wounding five. The separation plan involves building extensive fences, other barriers and restricting Palestinian access into Israel through eight to ten crossings points. The border would be heavily patrolled by Israeli soldiers and police. Cost estimates range from $300 million to $500 million. An economic report on the draft plan said the cost would be too high and separation would lead to political and economic instability in the PLO areas, perhaps intensifying the danger of attacks from opponents of the Israeli-PLO peace process. Analysts such as Dore Gold, Emanuel Winston and Ze'ev Schiff have discussed many of the reasons why it simply won't work. For another reason why it is the wrong approach to security, it is worth repeating a story I wrote, which appeared in an article entitled, DETERRENCE OR DHIMMIZATION (THE MACCABEAN, January 1995): Back in 1965, in a small meeting room in Tel Aviv, former Defense Minister Moshe Dayan gave a pep talk to a group of RAFI (Rishimat Poalai Israel) volunteers, myself included. At that time, RAFI, a breakaway faction of the Mapai Party, included such notables as former Prime Minister David Ben Gurion and former Defense Minister Shimon Peres. Peres and Dayan had been considered the "hawks" of Mapai and it was no accident that in the 1965 election they supported a strong defense and security policy. Continue reading "DEFENSE VS. PREEMPTION OR DESTRUCTION
Which Should Israel Choose? By Bernard J. Shapiro Freeman Center For Strategic Studies November 15, 2010 Israel has been swept with Arab violence and terrorism since the late 19th century. Israeli Prime Ministers have tried but failed to stem the tide. Ariel Sharon, well know for his tough tactics in quelling terrorism in Gaza in the 70's, has also failed. Back in 1965, in a small meeting room in Tel Aviv, former Defense Minister Moshe Dayan gave a pep talk to a group of RAFI (Rishimat Poalai Israel) volunteers, myself included. Dayan was always interesting to listen to, but this talk was something special and we paid attention to every word. "The essence of Israel's security in this region (Middle East) is deterrence," he said. "When we formed the State in 1948-9, we were very weak. The Arab States had planes, tanks, heavy artillery and many more soldiers than us. We had very little heavy military equipment. In the period 1949-55, we absorbed almost a million immigrants. Tent cities sprung up all over the country. We were totally disorganized. Had the Arabs mounted another major invasion, we could have lost. We devised a solution to this problem. It was deterrence. Think about being lost in a forest and surrounded by hostile animals. If you light a torch, boldly approach them showing no fear -- they will retreat. But, if you show fear -- they will attack and you are lost. We used this principle to save Israel during those early years. Every time we were attacked, we retaliated ten fold. We showed daring and penetrated deep within their borders to attack our targets. We were fearless, brave, and even a bit bloodthirsty. You know the result. The Arabs were afraid and never attacked. Deterrence worked. By 1956 when we invaded Sinai, the Israel Defense Force was not just strong, it was invincible." Continue reading " PREEMPTION OR DESTRUCTION - Which Should Israel Choose?" SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
Reflections of a Frustrated Zionist by Bernard J. Shapiro Freeman Center For Strategic Studies October 19, 2010 I am getting increasingly frustrated with the constant repetition of the same mistakes in Israel, year after year. Is there no learning curve for Israeli leaders, politicians, and let’s face the Leftist public? Why do we debate the obvious, like does the Land of Israel belong to us. Some other important questions: 1. Why do we negotiate with Abbas, Obama, the UN, the Eu, Egypt, Jordan or any other anti Israel nations, leader, or institutions. JUST SAY NO! They are all short change artists as I wrote about many years ago. Please read. DON’T PLAY WITH THE SHORT CHANGE ARTIST Or Why One Shouldn’t Make Redeployment MapsBy Bernard J. Shapiro From an editorial in the January 1998 issue of THE MACCABEAN ONLINE During my 23 years as owner of House of Books in Houston, I learned many valuable lessons. One in particular seems to have an application to the current situation in Israel. Let me explain: In 1978, the store was victimized by a short change artist. One of my clerks was at the register when a well dressed gentleman approached with a paperback book costing $2.95. He gave her a $20 bill and then began a back and forth exchange of money. In the end, the bookstore lost about $60. I called the Houston police department and requested that an officer come to the store and brief my employees on how to prevent this crime from happening again. The officer came and told us a little story. It seems that Johnny Carson once asked a short change artist to come to his show and try to fool him while he was fully alert to what was going down. The criminal had no problem and his skill marveled the audience. Continue reading "SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT Reflections of a Frustrated Zionist" Monday, October 18. 2010GAZA INVASION ARMADA
GAZA INVASION ARMADA
by Emanuel A. Winston Freeman Center Analyst & Commentator Freeman Center For Strategic Studies October 18, 2010 Reports indicate that another sea armada of perhaps more than 10 ships will sail from the Syrian port of Latakia where it has been docked for the last 12 days. The main ship in (what they call) the "Viva Palestina" convoy has 380 ‘activists’ from 42 countries, 147 vehicles and $5 million in medical aid. Their declared mission is to break Israel’s arms blockade of Hamas in Gaza. [Latest news: One ship has already docked in Egypt as of Sunday October 17th.] These so-called ‘activists’ are what Vladimir Lenin called “useful idiots” who were carrying the Communist Manifesto. Today’s “useful idiots” are the Islamic sympathizers who are ready to be used by Hamas and Hezb’Allah. To view their "real" purposes, look at their own ‘diary’ (listed below - footnote #1) of the propaganda parade through 3000 miles by land, and the rallies held at each stop. If you can tolerate the full onslaught of their propaganda, their own diary is quite damning. The propaganda campaign that Gaza Muslim Arab Palestinians under Hamas rule have been deprived of food and medicine has been disproved by foreign eye-witnesses, still and video photographs of the Gaza markets full of food, the water parks, the villas and other luxurious living of the "poor Palestinians". The only purpose of Israel’s legal blockade of Gaza to incoming foreign ships is to deny Hamas the free-flow of major weaponry. However, weapons coming from Syria and Iran continue to be smuggled in through hundreds of tunnels starting in Egypt’s Sinai Desert. An editorial form the October 2003 issue of THE MACCABEAN ONLINE. Re-issued every year I need to.
MY PRAYER FOR ISRAEL ROSH HASHONA 5771 By Bernard J. Shapiro As I survey the fragile planet we call home, my mind makes note of the chaos, blood, and tears. The cries of a million lost souls shatter the night in a million corners of the earth. The sensitive, compassionate among them try to feed the hungry, heal the sick, clothe the naked. One by one their energies dissipate. They try to hold back the tide with a teaspoon and then see the impossibility of the task. The Jewish people are but a cosmic speck in this universe. To many Jews who feel deeply about their own people, that speck becomes the whole world. Other Jews are irrevocably tied to non-Jewish pursuits. May we as a people open our eyes and begin to see the world as it really is. Without becoming depressed and morose, we must realize that there are powerful forces in the world that wish us ill. May we mobilize our strength to fight our enemies until they are defeated. May we not succumb to false prophets of peace. We all want peace. We pray for peace in our Sabbath services every Friday night. After thousands of years, being victims of persecution, expulsion, extermination, and discrimination, it is natural that we yearn for peace with every ounce of our bodies and souls. It is because our hunger for peace is so strong that we must be doubly cautious not to fall for a pseudo-peace. Today none of us believe Chamberlain really negotiated "peace in our time" with Hitler. Why do some Jews believe that Peres and Rabin really negotiated "peace" with Arafat, one of today's Hitlers? The Jewish people must learn the value of unity in the face of so many enemies who wish them ill. Recently Drawn From Two Days Of Arutz Sheva August 31 & September 1, 2010 by Bernard J. Shapiro Chairman and Editor Freeman Center For Strategic Studies www.freeman.org 1. Barak meets Abbas in Jordan. Nothing to talk about. The only peace the Arabs can offer Israel is the Peace of the grave. 2. Lone Zionist at Anti-Israeli Rally. That is good, but would it have been wrong to take a few friends along. And go undercover and bash a few heads. The Midrash tells us that it is Kosher to kill those who come to kill us. I am not saying this, Jewish Law says this. 3. Two terror suspects nabbed on flight from US. The US, the World and Israel are responsible for terrorism by showing restraint in destroying it. Also by funding, fearing and appeasing terrorists. Late reports indicate the Dutch will release them. 4. Back Taxes May Stop Ground Zero Mosque. Jews, Christians, Hindus and 9-11 victims should knock down the doors and sit in that place, like the Civil Rights Movement (1959-1966). Why wait for the IRS which is controlled by a Muslim President? 5. PA Prime Minister’s Diplomatic War Against Israel. My dear Lovers of Zion, this is Israel’s fault. Israeli must stop whining and do something. For example: blow up or jam the anti-Semitic radio and TV Stations. Arrest the Moslem preachers of hate and close their hateful schools. Stop funding anti-Jewish hate education. Stop funding PA’s diplomatic hate campaign against Israel. 6. Shas Leader Rabbi Yosef: Build in All of Judea and Sameria. Good advice. My advice to Rabbi Yosef: If the Israeli coalition does not follow your advice-WITHDRAW YOUR PARTY FROM COALITION AND BRING THIS GOVERNMENT DOWN. Don’t fear for Israel, HaShem will be by your side. Middle East Sandstorms and Tumbleweeds FREEMAN CENTER FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES August 26, 2010 Freeman Note: This is abrilliant analysis by Ettinger. I have always appreciated his wonderful insight into Arab-Israel-US issues. I have ONE complaint, not just for Yoram, but for most pro-Israel writers. The Apocalypse is coming. Those of us who understand what is really going on in the world must cease being "nice Jewish boys and girls." 1. We must stop promoting or even using the word peace or just peace settlement. It is fight or die. Learn this. 2. We must cease all dependence on the USA or its Moslem President to save Israel. 3. We must stop whinning about anti-Semitism and train ourselves, including youth to defend themselves. 4. An Israeli government that won't defend its citizens against Arab attack is not a Zionist government. When proud Jews in Israel defend themselves from Arab attack, the Israeli police, government, and justice system put them through hell. These people should not rule a Jewish State. 5. I am sick and tired of Israeli diplomats trying to win favor with ant-Semites, who will never support us. 6. I am sick and tired of American Jews refusing to take a stand to protect their fellow Jews. But have some kind of wishy, washy Ghetto mentality. They don't have to please Moslems, Leftists, socialists, communists, white and black people who do not care about the best interests of the Jewish People. And I hate those Jewish ACLU lawyers who would call me a rascist because I speak truth to lies. 7. I am sick and tired of all the delay in destroying Iran's nuclear threat. I know how difficult it is. But I am also not stupid and I know that five years ago would it have been easier. I know that the Israeli government keeps making it harder for the military to accomplish its mission. My readers on the Freemanlist know why I say this. the proliferation of missiles from North Korea, Iran, Russia, and China to Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and back to Iran. 8. And by the way the terrorists on all Israel's borders must be annihilated. We, the Jewish People did not suffer for 2000 years SHOULD NOT lose our Eretz Yisrael, because we are nice Jewish boys and girls. 9. I am sick and tired of Barak and Peres still being involved in Israeli politics. They should have been retired long ago. 10. Ok I will stop my rant. My final word. I won't puplish articles any more on the Freemanlist that DON'T GO FOR THE JUGLER. NO PUNCHES HELD BACK. In case you want a few examples (certainly not comprehensive). ISLAM, THE FALSE MASK OF RELIGION
By Emanuel A. Winston, Freeman Center Middle East Analyst & Commentator Freeman Center For Strategic Studies Auust 22, 2010 Religion, when taught and practiced with restraint and decency, is a valuable – ever irreplaceable – guide for humankind. However, when a specific religion teaches its children to hate and kill, then it cannot be defended as a religion. Then it is a “blood/death cult”, practicing child abuse on their own children. History is replete with confirmed accounts of nations and their particular religion being used as a reason for conquest, looting the victim society, forced conversion of the conquered society and, finally, mass extermination of all those who resist. Some self-anointed religions are merely pagans who worship idols and gods whom their Priest Cult interprets as the wishes of their panoply of gods. The only limitations on their practices would be the creative imaginations of their Priest Cults. Human sacrifice was common then and, strangely, it last into present time. They know from bitter experience that when government leaders become hostile to Jews, it’s dangerous to speak out in public. When some of us speak to elderly survivors and, if they trust you, you might hear something like this: “We know that, as in Germany in the 30s, the hate is growing in the nations as they need someone to blame for their money going bad and for the lack of jobs. We see clearly that President Barack Hussein Obama has a visceral dislike, even hatred, for the Jewish people. The Significance of Allahu Akbar
by Gamaliel Isaac Freeman Center For Strategic Studies November 8, 2009 Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. Army psychiatrist, while shouting Allahu Akbar (Allah is great) murdered twelve people and wounded twenty-one inside Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Fox News interviewed a “criminal profiler” who asserted definitively that this attack had nothing to do with religion. Some people suggested he had post traumatic stress syndrome, apparently they didn't know he had never served in combat. NPR and the Washington Post said his motive remains unclear. Muslims have a long history of committing atrocities to the cry of Allahu Akbar. When the Muslim Turks took children away from their infidel parents to make them into soldiers for Allah, their mothers and sisters would desperately follow the horsemen who would drive them away with whips with loud cries of Allah. When the PLO occupied Lebanon they massacred the Christians there. Bat Ye'or in her book Eurabia wrote about one of the massacres as follows: An eyewitness gave an account of the massacre of 582 Christians in Damur by the PLO and its Muslim allies on January 22, 1976: "The attack took place from the mountain behind. It was an apocalypse. They were coming, thousands and thousands, shouting 'Allahu Akbar! God is great! Let us attack them for the Arabs, let us offer a holocaust to Mohammad!' And they were slaughtering everyone in their path, men, women and children." When EgyptAir co-pilot Gamil Al Batuti was alone in the cockpit in Oct 31, 1999 of FLIGHT 990 he shut off the autopilot and the engines and put the aircraft into a steep dive, all the while intoning: Allahu Akbar. The Boeing 767 broke up in midair and crashed into the ocean off Nantucket Island, killing all 217 souls aboard (Allah is the Greatest worldnetdaily 7/31/04). NIDAL MALIK HASAN MASSACRE AT FORT HOOD - WHAT DOES IT MEAN? by Emanuel A. Winston, Middle East Analyst & Commentator Freeman Center For Strategic Studies November 6, 2009 Is there any doubt that G-d is fulfilling the promise He made to Avraham: "I will bless those who bless thee and curse those who curse thee." ? Has President Barack Obama brought this promised curse to America as he bonds with radical Islamists and attacks Israel on their behalf? Muslims in America are a dangerous element in our nation, despite the political dance, firstly by President George W. Bush and now by President Barack Hussein Obama to assure us that Muslims and Islam are perfectly safe for Americans. Did today’s November 5th massacre at Fort Hood, Texas prove that wrong? The shooter was named as Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim psychiatrist who objected to being posted to either war in Iraq or Afghanistan. Reportedly, Hasan killed 11 and wounded 31 with 2 handguns - at a soldiers’ collection point and processing center for those being organizing to leave for either front or returning stateside and being processed. ASSIMILATION OF AMERICAN JEWS CAN BE CURBED
by Michael Anbar PhD Freeman Center For Strategic Studies November 1, 2009 For centuries Jews have been subject to bigotry, i.e., misojudaic prejudice, often associated with violence that ranged from arson, molestation and pogroms to the Holocaust. Yet the Jewish nation survived in a grueling Diaspora. But later, once Jews were fully emancipated, many of them assimilated, and the Jewish nation lost many individuals. People born to Jewish parents have denied their heritage, joining subcultures that disregard ethnicity or religion but still hate Jews. This process is ongoing in American Jewry, especially among its younger, most productive members. The older generation, including Holocaust survivors, who are the majority of synagogue attendees, is not likely to abandon Judaism. However, their sons and daughters seem to assimilate in droves. Unlike in 19th Century Germany, assimilation of American Jews is not by conversion to Christianity but by joining transnational “progressive” political movements that despise Jewish nationalism. Giving up the national rights of Jews is not better than giving up the Jewish religion. A substantial number of the Jews who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 are assimilated transnationalists. WHEN THE PAST IS THE PRESENT
by Emanuel A. Winston, Freeman Center Middle East Analyst & Commentator October 29, 2009 Approximately 10 years ago I started writing what has become a series of articles entitled "THE GATHERING", 7 in all. These were intended as heads up alerts, forecasting that the Nations of the world were gathering to attack the Jewish State in deference to the Arab and Muslim oil States and the Church-taught hatred from its earliest beginnings. As today’s World writhes with Pain of its own making, they lash out at the minuscule Jewish State of Israel to relieve that pain. The fact that neither the Jews nor the Jewish State caused these Global problems made no difference to Christians, Muslims or - even Left Liberal Jews - looking to perversely take on a burden of guilt by blaming all other Jews for the ramping up of Global Hatred. I thought you might be interested in my forecast of August 4, 2001 (only 1 month before 9/22/01 brought America her Muslim Pearl Harbor). As the future continued to become more clear, I wrote 6 additional pieces, building on the mounting evidence, culminating so far with the appearance of President Barack Obama and his hostile Cabinet appointees and some 35 or more Czars and Czarinas who serve the President’s orders without being vetted by the FBI or approved of by Congress. Continue reading "WHEN THE PAST IS THE PRESENT" Tuesday, September 1. 2009Are American Jews the Most Foolish Voters in the United States ? II
Are American Jews the Most Foolish Voters in the United States ? II
by Ron Lipsman University of Maryland Freeman Center For Strategic Studies September 1, 2009 Recently, I wrote an article for the Maccabean Online (http://www.freeman.org/MOL/pages/july2009/are-american-jews-the-most-foolish-voters-in-the-united-states.php) in which I made the case that the sustained allegiance of Jewish Americans to liberal candidates and causes ran contrary to the fundamental interests of the Jewish community and its voters. My argument centered on three themes—or touchstone issues as I called them—around which Jews often base their decision on who shall receive their ballot. Those themes were: · The security and well-being of the State of Israel and its Jewish population. · The security and well-being of the American Jewish community. · The fundamental purpose of the Jewish people's continued existence, especially in America . I demonstrated that, corresponding to every one of the three themes, liberal politicians were pursuing policies that were completely inimical to the interests of the American Jewish community. Just to cite a representative example from the article: Jews fervently support diversity programs promoted by liberals—programs that have had the direct and documented effect of denying seats in medical and law schools to qualified Jewish applicants. Numerous such absurdities were highlighted in the article, which closed by posing the question "why?" Why, indeed, do Jewish Americans continue to be the second most reliable voting bloc for liberal Democrats, despite the fact that the liberal Democrats the Jews help to install in power routinely promote measures that are completely contrary to the interests of their Jewish supporters? I will attempt an answer in this article. Continue reading "Are American Jews the Most Foolish Voters in the United States ? II"

A TROJAN HORSE
David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic Studies August 26, 2009 "These Arab residents [of the lands of the Mandate of Palestine] are hardly a minority since they are part of the Arab ummah, the Arab people, more than 250 million strong, that are determined to rid the Middle East of a non Muslim nation like Israel, a kind of Trojan Horse behind Israeli lines to achieve that which the legendary one achieved." "The logic and reality of the situation is that the only force for peace in the Israeli region is the strength of Israel that discourages Arab adventurism...." The letters today in the Wall Street Journal (8.26.09) commenting on Sam Bahour's earlier article (8.26.09) scarcely do justice to the issues these letters raise. SETTLEMENTS: A JEWISH RIGHT
by David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic Studies June 18, 2009 Jews being an ethical people strongly driven by ethical considerations, it is imperative that Jews and their supporters have the facts about their right to the land of Israel. The Jews do not hold other people's lands and happen to have full rights to build communities on the lands of the Mandate. This is made clear in the presentation below by Professor Eliav Shochetman of Hebrew University, written in 1999 with quotations from the findings of persons like Professor Eugene Rostow. As is explained, leaving aside the Divine allocation of the land to the Jews, it was the determination of the 52 nations of the League of Nations, based on their historic considerations, that the lands of the Mandate of Palestine are to be set aside for a homeland for the Jewish people. The Mandate specifically gives the Jewish people the continuing right to "unlimited close settlement" of its lands -- the word "settlement" here is not a dirty word but the very right given in the Mandate to the activity of building a Jewish homeland. CIA Analyst, the future in Afghanistan, and the US
by marion ds dreyfus Freeman Center For Strategic Studies March 29, 2009 According to a meeting in mid-March with a top CIA asset, Gary Berntsen, President Obama will be in Afghanistan for "a looong time, maybe 10 years. Or more." A decorated Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) career officer, Berntsen served in the Directorate of Operations, October 1982 to June 2005. At the CIA, he was CIA Station Chief three separate times, and spearheaded some of the CIA’s most prominent counterterrorism deployments, which included the US response to the East Africa Embassy dramatic timed bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, as well as the 9/11 attacks. In 2000 he was recipient of the Distinguished Intelligence Medal and this was followed in 2004 by the Intelligence Star. He returned to Afghanistan as civilian advisor for Regional Command East on IED networks within the division of NATO acronymically tagged ISAF. Berntsen is responding, says this great author and rapid-fire talker, to reports that we need to quell Afghanistan because --aside from other obvious reasons--it is incendiary and next to Pakistan, with its nuclear devices and its 175 mm people (imagine--this populous and religiously fermenting place, nearly under the sway of the relentlessly immoderate, fiercely murderous Taliban...the mind reels). ELLIOTT ABRAMS AND THE PATH OF UNREALISM
by David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic StudiesMarch 3, 2009 "Elliott Abrams in a recent article shows himself a star graduate of the Bernard Madoff Confidence Man School... ready to deliver his Jewish paisanos into support for the Obama policy of Arab appeasement and Israeli surrender...." "The reality is ... the Arabs do not have willing peace to give Israel; they must be coerced to do so just as the Nazis were coerced...." "Is the relocation of Arabs or other populations that are a threat to peace extremist solutions unheard of in history?" Elliott Abrams in the March 2 issue of The Weakly Standard -- "THE PATH OF REALISM OR THE PATH OF FAILURE: Laying a foundation for peace in Palestine" -- pushes for what is actually a policy of Israeli surrender. The so-called realistic path he urges on Israel is to continue Bush's original 2002 policy to establish a Palestinian state on Israel's lands. When Bush surprisingly announced that policy, he also slandered Israel as the "occupier" of lands that allegedly belong to a mythical "Palestinian people." This was a "people" unknown prior to 1967 and unmentioned in UN Resolution 242 in that year and whose fraudulent claims on Israel's lands Bush would have Israel honor. In fact, these are very lands that were set aside as a homeland for the Jewish people by the League of Nations in their Mandate of Palestine. THE VATICAN AND ISRAEL
Diplomatic Relations, Recognition & Reparations By Bernard J. Shapiro Freeman Center For Strategic Studies May 1992 As most Jews are preparing to celebrate Israel's 44th year of independence, the Vatican is embroiled in a weighty discussion of whether to recognize the Jewish State. Most of us who have followed this issue over many years placed most of the blame for lack of relations on the Vatican's fear of offending the Arabs who have substantial Christian minorities in their countries. During Israel's early years, the official Vatican excuse for not establishing relations was Israel's refusal to internationalize Jerusalem. That was a part of the 1947 United Nations Partition Plan the was rejected by the Arab states. The Jordanians who controlled the Christian Holy Places in Jerusalem during that time period also rejected internationalization. In modern times, the Vatican has recognized the impossibility of turning the clock back on Jerusalem, and now insists on a resolution of the Palestinian conflict before establishing relations. Dr. Michael Kaniel, writing in the Jerusalem Post (April 25, 1992), analyzes the religious origins of the Vatican's anti-Israel policies. He shows how the real reason the Vatican has withheld formal recognition is because the Jewish State represents a vexing contradiction to Catholic theology. When Theodor Herzl met with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Merry del Val to request support of the Zionist movement on January 22, 1904, the cardinal said: "as long as the Jews deny the divinity of Christ...how can we agree to their regaining possession of the Holy Land?...They should first have to accept conversion." Three days later Pope Pius X told Herzl: "the Jews have not recognized our Lord; therefore we can not recognize the Jewish people." MORE ACCURACY AND DEPTH NEEDED
by David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic Studies February 8, 2009 "Were England, France, and the U.S. racist in their policy of having relocated 12 million ethnic Germans to Germany after World War II ?" Charles Levinson's article (Wall Street Journal 2.6.09) reporting on developments in Israeli elections concerning the candidacy of Avigdor Lieberman could use more accuracy and depth. Unlike Levninson's report that Lieberman's views are like the views of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane, they are different in important respects. Lieberman would redraw Israel's boundaries to exclude Arab-Israeli populations and, in land trades, would expel Jews from the territories the way it was done in Gaza. But this would only create Jewish refugees and enable the Arab enemy to transform Israel's eastern territories into Gaza platforms for rocketing Israel's nearby cities. Lieberman's is hardly a right wing program, any more than are the programs of Kadima and Labor, which parties would likewise surrender Israel to the Arab enemy with only variations in detail. On the other hand, Rabbi Kahane recognized early the since proven implacable nature of the Arab enemy and advocated their relocation while retaining the strategic Jewish territories that Lieberman and the leftist parties would surrender. Rabbi Kahane's approach would strengthen Israel for survival in the long run while Lieberman's bombastic program, damaging to Israel's interest, does not grapple with the Arab threat and would leave Israel worse off. YALE LECTURE ON ISRAEL
by David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic Studies January 22, 2009 On 1.22.09, I attended a lecture at the Yale Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (YIISA) and had the privilege of hearing a real live Israeli news correspondent give his views of the situation of Gaza, the history leading up to it, and the likely Israeli reaction at the polls in February. The speaker concluded that most probably Netanyahu will come to power, but opined that he is not far from Livni in his views. The speaker, a fine looking young man, stressed how close in views the so-called left of Israel is from the so-called right, how it was that supposedly right wingers in office have been the ones that put into orbit many of the programs advocated by the left, including the many so-called peace processes, as though these failed programs were the ones that had been most right. The speaker stressed that Israel seeks peace with the Arabs and that he believed that eventually there will be peace. Continue reading "YALE LECTURE ON ISRAEL"

HALF SOLUTIONS DON'T HELP ISRAEL
by David Basch Freeman Center For Strategic Studies December 31, 2008 I lose all confidence in Israel when I hear Israeli Ambassador Gillerman on Fox and Friends this morning saying, when asked what the solution to Gaza is, says, "It is for Hamas to decide not to shoot rockets at Israel." Clearly, he misreads the Arab enemy's mind. They will not willingly agree to stop shooting rockets and Israel has to compel them not to. This is the situation Israel faces with all its Arab adversaries. They won't agree to stop destroying Israel since they believe they have a religious duty to wipe Israel out. The solution for Israel's attaining peace is to compel the Arabs to live in peace. That means defeating them by taking the battle to their land holdings and permanently holding the territory. But won't that make it necessary for Israel to directly control Arab population? Not at all since Israel's military drive should push out the Arab population with its Arab armies, leveling the Arab cities behind. THE GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL HAS OVERTHROWN ITSELF
by Emanuel A. Winston, Freeman Center Middle East Analyst & Commentator November 23, 2008 Through incitement and provocation, the present Government of Israel has deliberately incited part of her population to revolt. At the same time, this non-Government has incited another part of the Israeli population to hate and attack those citizens being dispossessed of their rights, property - civilians who have had their lives put in great danger. Whatever mandate this government thinks it may have had to rule, based upon pre-election promises has been squandered away with a cold and calculating policy of "Dispossession". This exceedingly corrupt assemblage of politicians within the Kadima Party have made a mockery of any law or rights of her citizens. They have corrupted an already biased Court system. They have exercised control and influenced the office of Israel’s Attorney General and have enlisted officers of the both the Army and the Police to attack and dispossess her citizens of their rights and property. No Repentance from Vatican
by Steven Shamrak October 23, 2008 Plus THE VATICAN AND ISRAEL by Bernard J. Shapiro (1992) Freeman Center For Strategic Studies Not long ago, a spokesperson for Pope Benedict XVI said that the Pope would not visit Israel until a caption attached to a photo hanging in Yad Vashem of Pope Pius XII, who reigned during the Holocaust era, was removed. The caption states that Pius XII "abstained from signing the Allied declaration condemning the extermination of the Jews" and "maintained his neutral position throughout the war". Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, stands by the description and affirms that it has ensured that the presentation of the subject in the Holocaust History Museum at Yad Vashem is based on the best research regarding this topic. Millions of Christians also died during WW2 including priests and nuns, but Pope Pius XII did not protest! The Church did not protest about the genocide of the Roma people or the Nazi hunt for the members of the 'wicked' Christian denominations. The Vatican claims that Pius worked "secretly and silently". We must be direct and honest about it: Yes, he was silent! Some assert that the Vatican was actively involved in saving up to 860,000 Jews by establishing an escape network in some countries. Even if this is true, they disregard the fact that by speaking out against Nazi policy toward Jews, Pope Pius XII could have stopped or at least greatly reduced collaboration with Nazis by the Catholics in Poland, the Baltic region, Ukraine and France, as well as the co-operation of all Christians in Europe. Without the local 'assistance' that the Christian population eagerly provided to the Fascists, or their silence, the Holocaust would not happened and most Jews in Europe would have survived! Of Kurds And Arabs: Beyond Ignorance…The Allegedly Free Press
by Gerald A. Honigman FREEMAN CENTER FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES August 8, 2008 If it was just another State Department travesty, I could accept it. After all, I’m used to the Foggy Folks doing such things as fighting President Truman over his supporting Israel’s very rebirth; concocting latter day Arafatian Fatah “good cops” to force down Israel’s throat (knowing that on the issue of a permanent Jewish Israel, Abbas’s boys totally agree with the Hamas “bad cops”); demanding that Israel itself supply weapons to Fatah--which has as much, if not more, Jewish blood on its hands than Hamas--only to see such things as yeshiva students later massacred as a result; setting up equivalency standards whereby murderer and those in pursuit are placed on the same moral plane; and so forth. The Arabists who wield too much say at Foggy Bottom have played such games for well over a half century now. BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S TRIP TO THE "WEST BANK"
by Emanuel A. Winston, Middle East Analyst & Commentator Freeman Center For Strategic Studies - July 17, 2008 Barack Hussein Obama is about to make a trip of apology to Mahmoud Abbas for saying to AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) that Jerusalem should remain an undivided city. (1) The next day he flipped like a flap-jack after angry statements by Islamic "Jihadists" and, especially, from Mahmoud Abbas of the Fatah ‘Palestinians’, current President of the ‘Palestinian Authority’. Obama has more than 2 sides as does a flap-jack - otherwise known as "flipping a two-sided pancake". Presently, Obama is going to apologize and assure Abbas (aka Abu Mazen), that he made a ‘mistake’ in speaking about Jerusalem as a "single sovereign city of the Jewish State". Obama wants to convince the Arab Muslim Palestinians that he really meant that a divided city so a ‘non-people’ could realize their dream that Jerusalem must belong only to them, to be only their capital and, therefore, legitimize the invention of a "Palestinian people of Arab extraction". ASSASSINATION? A GOOD IDEA?? - SOMETIMES
by Emanuel A. Winston & Phyllis Chesler Freeman Center Middle East Analyst & Commentator June 25, 2008 Perhaps you recall a series of 5 movies starring Charles Bronson called "Death Wish" starting in 1974. His daughter was raped and then killed herself, fleeing her tormenters. Bronson, as Paul Kersey a well-known architect, began a mission of vengeance. He had a hand gun and roamed places like Central Park in New York City where thugs frequently decided he was an easy ‘mark’ to be mugged, robbed or killed. He shot them dead. Soon New York’s murders, robberies and rapes declined and the people were delighted. (So were the Police, although they couldn’t say so.) I was thinking about this after I read about a Jewish, kippah-wearing boy, 17 year old Rudy Haddad, walking in a Jewish quarter, the 19th district of Paris on June 21st. Rudy was attacked by 15-30 "African immigrants". No one ‘said’ they were Muslims. They beat him with iron bars and fractured his skull. He has just awakened from a coma. This horror story has NOT been covered in the mainstream media. (See the article from Phyllis Chesler below.) In January 2006 Ilan Halimi was brutally tortured for 3 weeks by gangs of African Muslim immigrants, along with the neighbors in Paris. He finally died on February 13, 2006. 19 of the gang are facing trial for his torture and murder. What justice it would be to wander the streets of Paris, with an automatic weapon, looking like a vulnerable Jew and simply kill any and all who came to assault a Jew. No arrests - just seeming executions. Laws are evolved by civilized people for civilized people - NOT for murdering thugs, especially those who believe their religion needs the fresh blood sacrifice of their victims. Muslims in France and England have invaded and brought with them the hate of their teachings in Islam. I speak of thugs and street gangs who look for victims, particularly Jews, to savagely beat and kill. Charles Bronson’s screen vigilante’s solution was fast and simple. No pity; no courts; no arrests - just kill them as they come at you. Their rules are No Pity, so let all play by their rules. COMMENTS BY EMANUEL WINSTON ### Continue reading "ASSASSINATION? Dear World - Reflections
by Jack Berger Freeman Center For Stretgic Studies June 19, 2008 In a few weeks we, in America, will be remembering and celebrating the Fourth of July. I will be reflecting and remembering two Jewish Fourth of Julys from our history. On July 4, 1946, Polish Jews liberated from Nazi death camps gratefully made their way back to their “hometown” – and were welcomed then slaughtered by their Polish neighbors in a town called Kielce. The welcome home was not very welcoming. Thirty years later on July 4, 1976, there was also a moment of liberation and welcoming, for it was on July 4, 1976, that the Israeli Defense Forces rescued Jewish hostages kidnapped by PLO terrorists, from a place called Entebbe. While there was joyous celebrations and relief in Israel, at the United Nations there was only the usual condemnation. How dare Israel invade a sovereign country? Yet it was President Gerald Ford who captured the moment when, in the middle of the Fourth of July celebrations in Washington, D.C., he interrupted the festivities to proudly announce that America had just been given a gift commemorating this special day of independence and freedom – “We have just been informed that the Israeli forces have rescued their hostages at Entebbe and have returned home safely.” On wings of eagles I shall bring you back!
