Dear Friends,

Yair Stern, the leader of Lehi (Lohamei Herut Yisrael), wrote an article on the holiday of Hanukkah entitled "The Miracle of Hanukkah."

It was written on the eve of Hanukkah 1942, and was published in the Kislev 5702 issue of the organization's internal newspaper Bamahteret:

"The miracle of Hanukkah [...] What is a miracle? A cruse of oil that seemed as if it would burn for only a single day, burned for eight days. The miracle of Hanukkah - like every miracle - was not what was visible, what could be measured, what could be calculated. A miracle is something that cannot be calculated by arithmetic, nor can it be perceived by the intellect, since it is elevated above the intellect and exalted above any comprehension. The miracle is [...] something that forcefully and daringly breaches the boundary of the reality. The miracle is the grandeur of majesty and the sublimity of holiness.

There is nothing more sublime and holier than a national war. The nation's war for its honor, its freedom, and its life. The life of a nation without honor and without freedom is no life. Consequently, any nation worthy of respect, small or large, takes its life in its hands and goes forth to national war. The course of the war is determined by the degree of the nation's willingness and its steadfast resolve to fight to the end, whatever may be, to be killed rather than to surrender. Although these "immeasurable" values do not always determined the outcome of the war, it is these that determine its historical fate, that is: its value for the future of the nation.

The year is 70 C.E. and a young Roman legionnaire stands on a hill overlooking Jerusalem. While he watches it burn, he says to his comrades in Latin, "Judea Capta Est" (Judea is conquered).Yet like the legendary phoenix, rising from the ashes of its own destruction, Israel burst onto the world's stage 2000 years later, with the cry of a lusty infant yearning to breathe free. Five Arab armies tried to destroy that new life before it could take hold. With blood and fire, including the sacrifice of one per cent of its population (6000 of its best young people), besieged Israel secured its independence.

Just nine short years earlier, European Jewry faced its most devastating experience, the Holocaust. In the areas under Nazi occupation, the Jewish death rate was 90%. Despite revolts in dozens of camps, and heroic resistance with the partisans of free Europe, the Jews were unorganized, unarmed and ultimately became victims. During both the Holocaust and Israel's War of Independence, the world and its leaders were indifferent, if not hostile, to the fate of the Jews.

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. Army psychiatrist, while shouting Allahu Akbar (Allah is great) murdered twelve people and wounded twenty-one inside Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Fox News interviewed a “criminal profiler” who asserted definitively that this attack had nothing to do with religion. Some people suggested he had post traumatic stress syndrome, apparently they didn't know he had never served in combat. NPR and the Washington Post said his motive remains unclear.
Muslims have a long history of committing atrocities to the cry of Allahu Akbar. When the Muslim Turks took children away from their infidel parents to make them into soldiers for Allah, their mothers and sisters would desperately follow the horsemen who would drive them away with whips with loud cries of Allah.

When the PLO occupied Lebanon they massacred the Christians there. Bat Ye'or in her book Eurabia wrote about one of the massacres as follows:
An eyewitness gave an account of the massacre of 582 Christians in Damur by the PLO and its Muslim allies on January 22, 1976: "The attack took place from the mountain behind. It was an apocalypse. They were coming, thousands and thousands, shouting 'Allahu Akbar! God is great! Let us attack them for the Arabs, let us offer a holocaust to Mohammad!' And they were slaughtering everyone in their path, men, women and children."

When EgyptAir co-pilot Gamil Al Batuti was alone in the cockpit in Oct 31, 1999 of FLIGHT 990 he shut off the autopilot and the engines and put the aircraft into a steep dive, all the while intoning:
Allahu Akbar.

The Boeing 767 broke up in midair and crashed into the ocean off Nantucket Island, killing all 217 souls aboard (Allah is the Greatest worldnetdaily 7/31/04).

Did today’s November 5th massacre at Fort Hood, Texas prove that wrong? The shooter was named as Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim psychiatrist who objected to being posted to either war in Iraq or Afghanistan. Reportedly, Hasan killed 11 and wounded 31 with 2 handguns - at a soldiers’ collection point and processing center for those being organizing to leave for either front or returning stateside and being processed.

ASSIMILATION OF AMERICAN JEWS CAN BE CURBED

For centuries Jews have been subject to bigotry, i.e., misojudaic prejudice, often associated with violence that ranged from arson, molestation and pogroms to the Holocaust. Yet the Jewish nation survived in a grueling Diaspora. But later, once Jews were fully emancipated, many of them assimilated, and the Jewish nation lost many individuals. People born to Jewish parents have denied their heritage, joining subcultures that disregard ethnicity or religion but still hate Jews. This process is ongoing in American Jewry, especially among its younger, most productive members.

The older generation, including Holocaust survivors, who are the majority of synagogue attendees, is not likely to abandon Judaism. However, their sons and daughters seem to assimilate in droves. Unlike in 19th Century Germany, assimilation of American Jews is not by conversion to Christianity but by joining transnational “progressive” political movements that despise Jewish nationalism. Giving up the national rights of Jews is not better than giving up the Jewish religion. A substantial number of the Jews who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 are assimilated transnationalists.

WHEN THE PAST IS THE PRESENT

Approximately 10 years ago I started writing what has become a series of articles entitled "THE GATHERING", 7 in all. These were intended as heads up alerts, forecasting that the Nations of the world were gathering to attack the Jewish State in deference to the Arab and Muslim oil States and the Church-taught hatred from its earliest beginnings.

The fact that neither the Jews nor the Jewish State caused these Global problems made no difference to Christians, Muslims or - even Left Liberal Jews - looking to perversely take on a burden of guilt by blaming all other Jews for the ramping up of Global Hatred.

I thought you might be interested in my forecast of August 4, 2001 (only 1 month before 9/22/01 brought America her Muslim Pearl Harbor).

As the future continued to become more clear, I wrote 6 additional pieces, building on the mounting evidence, culminating so far with the appearance of President Barack Obama and his hostile Cabinet appointees and some 35 or more Czars and Czarinas who serve the President’s orders without being vetted by the FBI or approved of by Congress.

REDEEMING THE TEMPLE MOUNT

Back in 1993, I started inviting people to explain the significance of rebuilding the Temple Mount in Jewish history and its affect on the World. Rabbi Moishe Traxler was very helpful in explaining to me the Lubavitch position regarding the rebuilding of the Temple. They very clearly prohibit any activity on the Temple Mount until the coming of the Messiah. The Israeli Consul General (Houston) Meir Romem was quick to tell me about the horrible international consequences of attempting to rebuild the Temple.

Others, including Rabbis of great note, told me the rebuilding of the Temple would require the introduction of animal sacrifices. A friend, a vegetarian and animal rights activist, was horrified by such a prospect. All the myths were refuted. Rambam explained that animal sacrifice is not necessary if the Temple is rebuilt. He talked about a process of REDEMPTION. First regain control of the Temple Mount.

INTRODUCTION

In 1934, Harry W. Freeman, my grandfather, was already lecturing about the dangers of Hitler and Nazism. Nobody listened. The Holocaust was not prevented. Today, in 2009 there are 1.9 billion Arab & Moslem people who plan a second Holocaust against the Jews of Israel and the world. The governments and people of Europe not only acquiesce but actively aid in this genocidal plan through diplomatic and material support. The American State Department encourages the Arabs by actively striving to weaken Israel’s strategic and military superiority. Their first stage is to use the so called “peace process” to weaken Israel and strip it of its strategic territories. They are being aided by the same hypocrites and accomplices in the West who failed to aid the Jews of Europe in their darkest hour. Unfortunately, even left-wing Israelis have fallen victims to the seductive lure of peace and have begun a policy of appeasement similar to that tried with Hitler. The results will be no different.

The Arab propaganda full of slanders and libels; the media bias against Israel replete with double standards and the rewriting of history are all working to the same end: the de-legitimation of Israel. Israel is the only country considered by many to be GUILTY OF ORIGINAL SIN by virtue of its very existence. This process of de-legitimation has as its goal creating a world climate in which the DESTRUCTION of Israel is acceptable. Many in the Jewish community are either apathetic or fail to recognize this threat. Fortunately the Jews have new allies in the Evangelical Christian Community and in the Hindu community that has suffered Moslem depredations for about1400 years.

As I survey the fragile planet we call home, my mind makes note of the chaos, blood, and tears. The cries of a million lost souls shatter the night in a million corners of the earth. The sensitive, compassionate among them try to feed the hungry, heal the sick, clothe the naked. One by one their energies dissipate. They try to hold back the tide with a teaspoon and then see the impossibility of the task. The Jewish people are but a cosmic speck in this universe. To many Jews who feel deeply about their own people, that speck becomes the whole world. Other Jews are irrevocably tied to non-Jewish pursuits.

Are American Jews the Most Foolish Voters in the United States ? II

Recently, I wrote an article for the Maccabean Online (http://www.freeman.org/MOL/pages/july2009/are-american-jews-the-most-foolish-voters-in-the-united-states.php) in which I made the case that the sustained allegiance of Jewish Americans to liberal candidates and causes ran contrary to the fundamental interests of the Jewish community and its voters. My argument centered on three themes—or touchstone issues as I called them—around which Jews often base their decision on who shall receive their ballot. Those themes were:

· The security and well-being of the State of Israel and its Jewish population.

· The security and well-being of the American Jewish community.

· The fundamental purpose of the Jewish people's continued existence, especially in America .

I demonstrated that, corresponding to every one of the three themes, liberal politicians were pursuing policies that were completely inimical to the interests of the American Jewish community. Just to cite a representative example from the article: Jews fervently support diversity programs promoted by liberals—programs that have had the direct and documented effect of denying seats in medical and law schools to qualified Jewish applicants. Numerous such absurdities were highlighted in the article, which closed by posing the question "why?" Why, indeed, do Jewish Americans continue to be the second most reliable voting bloc for liberal Democrats, despite the fact that the liberal Democrats the Jews help to install in power routinely promote measures that are completely contrary to the interests of their Jewish supporters? I will attempt an answer in this article.

Today I met an orphan of the 1929 massacre of Jews in Jerusalem because of a blood libel. Shmuel Tsefania survived the massacre under his dead mother's body. He survived the Friday mutilations and massacre in the Jewish neighborhood of Jerusalem called Nissan Bak, across from Meah Shearim, near the Damascus gate. When the Jews came to bury their dead on Friday, the bodies were un-identifiable. The burial was postponed until Saturday evening. The sound of a baby's cry came from below the dead. That baby is now 81. His tale is the tale of Jewish rights and reality that needs rectification for the dead and for the living. We heard his story and said kaddish in front of the mass grave at the Mount of Olives Cemetery.

From a loving established family, left was a Jewish orphan. Not only was he orphaned, but the neighborhood of Batei Nissan lost most of its Jews in 1929 and all of its Jews by the Jordanian invasion and occupation in 1948. The neighborhood was established by a printer from Tsefat. He also put up a shul, the tallest in the Old City which housed 58 shuls which the Jordanians destroyed. It was called Batei Eshel Avraham. The parking lot outside this neighborhood where we parked today was all Jewish houses that were homes to 200 families. Jews were killed. An orphan survived. The neighborhood was almost Judenrid because of the pogroms that killed about 133 Jews. The dead of Nissan Bak are buried in a mass grave in the Mount of Olives Cemetery. We visited the dead again 80 years later.

Are American Jews the Most Foolish Voters in the United States?

Despite its ludicrous tone, the question posed in the title is a legitimate one. With the exception of American blacks, Jews continue to comprise the most reliable voting block for liberal Democrats in the United States. They vote overwhelmingly in that direction in virtually all gubernatorial, congressional and presidential elections. Obama obtained more than 80% of the Jewish vote, not uncharacteristic of the percentage of Jews who have cast their ballots for Democratic presidential candidates since Franklin Roosevelt. Reagan was an exception, but he only obtained roughly 40% of the Jewish vote. No other Republican since has come close to that number

I maintain that the massive, ongoing, enthusiastic and predictable Jewish vote for liberal Democrats is an example of one of the most foolish voting records by any ethnic group in the history of the American republic. The black vote along the same lines is self-destructive and foolish, but there are some bona fide explanations—especially in the last election. On the other hand, as I will show in this article, the sustained allegiance by American Jews to the Left is not only self-destructive and foolish, it is also short-sighted, naïve, ineffective, harmful and ultimately inexcusable.

SETTLEMENTS: A JEWISH RIGHT

Jews being an ethical people strongly driven by ethical
considerations, it is imperative that Jews and their supporters have
the facts about their right to the land of Israel. The Jews do not
hold other people's lands and happen to have full rights to build
communities on the lands of the Mandate. This is made clear in the
presentation below by Professor Eliav Shochetman of Hebrew University,
written in 1999 with quotations from the findings of persons like Professor
Eugene Rostow.

As is explained, leaving aside the Divine allocation of the land to
the Jews, it was the determination of the 52 nations of the League of
Nations, based on their historic considerations, that the lands of the
Mandate of Palestine are to be set aside for a homeland for the Jewish
people. The Mandate specifically gives the Jewish people the
continuing right to "unlimited close settlement" of its lands -- the
word "settlement" here is not a dirty word but the very right given
in the Mandate to the activity of building a Jewish homeland.

SIMPLE RULES FOR CREATING A GIANT WAVE OF ALIYA TO ISRAEL

1. Crush terrorism and pre-empt all existential threats to the State of Israel. Why move to a country unable to protect its Jewish population?

2. Annex all state lands within the borders of Israel (post 1967). Annex all property stolen from the Jewish People during the last 2000 years, including Church and Waqf property (exceptions, of course for Holy Places. The term Holy Places does not include fraudulent claims of Muslims to Jewish or Christian Holy Places.). Remove all illegal Arab buildings and farms.

3. Require all voting citizens of Israel to do military or community service for 3 years (including Arabs). The right to vote and be a citizen will depend such service + a loyalty oath to the Jewish State.

4. Re-affirm that Israel is a Jewish State and NOT a democratic (one man one vote) state of all its citizens. The loyal citizens of Israel whether Jewish, Christian, Bedouin, Druze, or Arab will have equal rights.

5. Adopt Prof. Paul Eidelberg's constitution with constituency elections.

6. Open up Judea & Samaria for massive building, thus creating giant suburbs close to the heavily populated Israeli coastline. A system of toll roads, and light rail will connect these suburbs to the coast from Ashdod to Nahariya. This will solve the over population along Israel's coast and create a better quality of living for all Israelis.

7. Anyone in Israel who raises up a rock to crush Jewish skulls, or a knife, gun or bomb to kill Jews should be expelled from Eretz Yisrael. Those not loyal to the State of Israel as a Jewish State and wish to replace it with an Arab/Muslim country, should lose all citizenship rights and be encouraged to leave. If they incite hatred and anti-Jewish feelings, they should be expelled.

A final thought: It took Jews 2000 years to regain Eretz Yisrael. We should most emphatically not allow the world who wished us dead to influence our decisions on how we should LIVE.

ADVICE TO PM NETANAYHU BEFORE HIS ENCOUNTER WITH OBAMA

Like most of us, who are concerned with the survival and security of Israel, I am concerned. There are so many forces bent on our destruction, that a true Zionist hardly knows where to turn, much less what to do. I have been thinking about it for many many months, even years. Below are the simple thoughts of a frustrated Zionist.

TO NETANYHU – WHEN YOU MEET OBAMA

1. Tell him that he is now president of a great country that Israelis have always loved. He should do his best not to destroy it by turning it into a third-world Socialist non-democratic nation.

2. Please remind him that Israel is a sovereign Jewish nation and will not take orders from either him, the UN, EU, NATO, or the Arab dictators. Let him understand that when his people (white, black and Muslim) were still barbarians the Jewish People had already built a great civilization based on Justice and Monotheism.

3. Explain to him that there can be no peace treaty with Muslims, because they do not keep treaties. Israel is too smart to sign another peace of paper for a fake peace. For 16 years, Israeli leaders have pissed away territory, security and deterrence for NOTHING. We have had enough.

4. There have been a long line of officials in the US State Department and CIA, who have worked hard to damage Israel’s ability to survive in its very hostile neighborhood. Time after time, they pull Israel back from total victory over its enemies. Those days are gone forever.

5. We are sick and tired of your Justice system targeting good Jews like Jonathan Pollard for exceptional anti-Semitic treatment. I say to you with full authority and intent that we will capture and try every CIA agent in Israel unless Pollard is released within 10 days. Enough is enough.

CIA Analyst, the future in Afghanistan, and the US

According to a meeting in mid-March with a top CIA asset, Gary Berntsen, President Obama will be in Afghanistan for "a looong time, maybe 10 years. Or more."

A decorated Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) career officer, Berntsen served in the Directorate of Operations, October 1982 to June 2005. At the CIA, he was CIA Station Chief three separate times, and spearheaded some of the CIA’s most prominent counterterrorism deployments, which included the US response to the East Africa Embassy dramatic timed bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, as well as the 9/11 attacks. In 2000 he was recipient of the Distinguished Intelligence Medal and this was followed in 2004 by the Intelligence Star. He returned to Afghanistan as civilian advisor for Regional Command East on IED networks within the division of NATO acronymically tagged ISAF.

Berntsen is responding, says this great author and rapid-fire talker, to reports that we need to quell Afghanistan because --aside from other obvious reasons--it is incendiary and next to Pakistan, with its nuclear devices and its 175 mm people (imagine--this populous and religiously fermenting place, nearly under the sway of the relentlessly immoderate, fiercely murderous Taliban...the mind reels).

STOP AHMADINEJAD’S PLANNED NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST

We have just heard President Barack Obama plead with the Mullahs of Iran to "just dialogue with us and we Americans will "kiss" you with so much respect that all will be forgiven". Perhaps Obama with his extraordinary lack of experience and plentiful naivete has overlooked Europe’s kissing up to Iran for more than 30 years.

Nevertheless, the U.S. cannot allow the Mullahs to control the Gulf Oil States and the Saudi oil fields. Arabists in the Washington loop, including the State Department, many of the 16 U.S. Intelligence Agencies, such as the advisory NIC (National Intelligence Council) , ‘et al’ do not wish to tweak Islam’s nose by having the U.S. strike Iran’s nuclear infrastructure first. show restraint in order not to forgo an imagined possibility of living
in peace with the implacable Arabs -- concessions that gravely weaken
Israel.

The situation truly resembles lambs bargaining with jackals and
offering all kinds of thoughtful goodies to get the jackals to not
seize them by the throat. Such peaceful offers, of course, avail not
in the nature of the case -- the case of Israeli lamb bargaining with
the Arab jackal.

surrender. The so-called realistic path he urges on Israel is to
continue Bush's original 2002 policy to establish a Palestinian state
on Israel's lands. When Bush surprisingly announced that policy, he
also slandered Israel as the "occupier" of lands that allegedly belong
to a mythical "Palestinian people." This was a "people" unknown prior
to 1967 and unmentioned in UN Resolution 242 in that year and whose
fraudulent claims on Israel's lands Bush would have Israel honor. In
fact, these are very lands that were set aside as a homeland for the
Jewish people by the League of Nations in their Mandate of Palestine.

We Must Return To Zionism

In 1897 in Basle, Switzerland, Theodore Herzl founded the World Zionist Organization. There were great accomplishments in the last 100 years. Much has happened to the Jewish people who found themselves on a roller coaster with many traumatic ups and downs. The Holocaust was the lowest point and the establishment of Israel was a high point. There was the great victory of 1967 and the trauma of 1973. Zionism flourished, Israel prospered, Judea, Samaria and Gaza were settled. The Ethiopian return to Zion brought tears to our eyes with pride. The great Russian migration to Israel literally changed the country for ever.

And then a cataclysmic and horrific event took place. A small clique of charlatans, with anti-Zionist delusions, took over the Israeli government in 1992. They deceived the Israeli voters by placing ("Mr. Security") Yitzhak Rabin at the head of their ticket. They promised security and then proceeded to dismantle the Jewish State. 100 years of Zionism are being undone in a few years. The new Likud government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not seem to have the political will to undo the damage of Oslo.

In the past few years, it seems that the main effort of Israeli governments was the creation of a Palestinian state. The word peace was perverted and distorted, coming to mean surrender and appeasement.

THE VATICAN AND ISRAEL
Diplomatic Relations, Recognition & Reparations

As most Jews are preparing to celebrate Israel's 44th year of independence, the Vatican is embroiled in a weighty discussion of whether to recognize the Jewish State. Most of us who have followed this issue over many years placed most of the blame for lack of relations on the Vatican's fear of offending the Arabs who have substantial Christian minorities in their countries.

During Israel's early years, the official Vatican excuse for not establishing relations was Israel's refusal to internationalize Jerusalem. That was a part of the 1947 United Nations Partition Plan the was rejected by the Arab states. The Jordanians who controlled the Christian Holy Places in Jerusalem during that time period also rejected internationalization. In modern times, the Vatican has recognized the impossibility of turning the clock back on Jerusalem, and now insists on a resolution of the Palestinian conflict before establishing relations.

Dr. Michael Kaniel, writing in the Jerusalem Post (April 25, 1992), analyzes the religious origins of the Vatican's anti-Israel policies. He shows how the real reason the Vatican has withheld formal recognition is because the Jewish State represents a vexing contradiction to Catholic theology. When Theodor Herzl met with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Merry del Val to request support of the Zionist movement on January 22, 1904, the cardinal said: "as long as the Jews deny the divinity of Christ...how can we agree to their regaining possession of the Holy Land?...They should first have to accept conversion." Three days later Pope Pius X told Herzl: "the Jews have not recognized our Lord; therefore we can not recognize the Jewish people."

MORE ACCURACY AND DEPTH NEEDED

"Were England, France, and the U.S. racist in their
policy of having relocated 12 million ethnic Germans
to Germany after World War II ?"

Charles Levinson's article (Wall Street Journal 2.6.09) reporting
on developments in Israeli elections concerning the candidacy of
Avigdor Lieberman could use more accuracy and depth.

Unlike Levninson's report that Lieberman's views are like the views of
the late Rabbi Meir Kahane, they are different in important respects.
Lieberman would redraw Israel's boundaries to exclude Arab-Israeli
populations and, in land trades, would expel Jews from the territories
the way it was done in Gaza. But this would only create Jewish
refugees and enable the Arab enemy to transform Israel's eastern
territories into Gaza platforms for rocketing Israel's nearby cities.
Lieberman's is hardly a right wing program, any more than are the
programs of Kadima and Labor, which parties would likewise surrender
Israel to the Arab enemy with only variations in detail.

On the other hand, Rabbi Kahane recognized early the since proven
implacable nature of the Arab enemy and advocated their relocation
while retaining the strategic Jewish territories that Lieberman and the
leftist parties would surrender. Rabbi Kahane's approach would
strengthen Israel for survival in the long run while Lieberman's
bombastic program, damaging to Israel's interest, does not grapple
with the Arab threat and would leave Israel worse off.

HASBARA AND REALITY

THE JERUSALEM POST reported last month on plans at the Israeli Foreign Ministry to abolish its "hasbara" or information efforts. It reported, "The decision to abolish hasbara is in keeping with Foreign Minister Shimon Peres' view that 'if you have good policy, you do not need hasbara. And if you have bad policy, hasbara will not help.'" Those of us who have been in the trenches, fighting Arab propaganda for years, were stunned by this policy change. Most of all, we were stunned by this apparently incorrect perception of reality.

The propaganda battlefield, from which the Foreign Ministry seems eager to withdraw, is a surreal Kafkaesque landscape filled with the evil utterances of that unholy alliance of Arabs and anti-Semites. Their propaganda targets the Jewish community in America as well as Israel for a one simple reason: Anything that weakens the Jewish community and reduces their status in America ultimately limits the ability of Jews to aid Israel politically and financially. George Orwell would be quite at home with the "newspeak" of the "politically correct" bigots. Language, history, and religion become a twisted mass of bizarre concepts such as Zionism = racism.

YALE LECTURE ON ISRAEL

On 1.22.09, I attended a lecture at the Yale Institute for
Interdisciplinary Studies (YIISA) and had the privilege of hearing a
real live Israeli news correspondent give his views of the situation of
Gaza, the history leading up to it, and the likely Israeli reaction at
the polls in February. The speaker concluded that most probably
Netanyahu will come to power, but opined that he is not far from Livni
in his views.

The speaker, a fine looking young man, stressed how close in views the
so-called left of Israel is from the so-called right, how it was that
supposedly right wingers in office have been the ones that put into
orbit many of the programs advocated by the left, including the many
so-called peace processes, as though these failed programs were the
ones that had been most right. The speaker stressed that Israel seeks
peace with the Arabs and that he believed that eventually there will
be peace.

SICK OBJECTIVE OF OLMERT GOVERNMENT

The prime objective of the Olmert government is to deliver an election victory to
Kadima, which had been passive for years against Arab attacks from Gaza. It
was goaded to action because Israelis were beginning to see that this government
is more involved in destroying the conservative Israeli political challenge to its

What the Olmert government and the leftists wish to do is to discredit the
conservative Jewish opposition by creating a new Arab state on Israel's
territories as a fait accompli, forever proving that God's promises to Israel in the
Bible will never, ever come true. The resulting demoralization of the religious
conservative sector, Olmert and the leftists believe, will leave the secular leftists
as the only credible leadership of the country.

This leftist goal -- being their highest priority -- has resulted in the motivated
blindness of the leftists to the reality of an Arab enemy that does not ever
wish to make peace with a viable Israel and will use every advantage gained
by acquiring strategic Israeli territory to destroy Israel. The left cannot accept this
reality since it exposes itself as incompetent to defend long term Israeli survival.

THE GAZA STRIP-TEASE

Let's strip this fight down to the actual bare facts. You elect a Nazi-like terrorist government, (and I use the comparison precisely), whose primary goal and charter is the destruction of the state of Israel.

They create schools where textbooks expound on the concept of Jews and Christians being monkeys and enemies of Islam who must be destroyed. They establish summer camps that teach 7 year olds the virtues of becoming suicide bombers, actually constructing a sample vest model complete with dynamite sticks, in arts & crafts. They continue to publicly describe Jews on radio, tv and newspapers as something lower than vermin, all of whom must be exterminated.

They spend all their time building tunnels and smuggling weapons to kill innocent civilians in Israel, instead of building businesses and a better life. They fire rockets regularly into Israeli towns and cities to goad Israel into a short-lived response that ultimately becomes a pr coup. They have weekly parades attended by upwards of 100,000 people screaming, "We will destroy the Zionist criminal pigs," and much worse.

ANTI-SEMITIC JOURNALISTS UPSET THEY CAN’T GET INTO GAZA TO WRITE BIASED STORIES

Israel will not allow foreign journalists into Gaza. (1) The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) want to protect them. They also want to avoid having Hamas target them, and then blaming the Israelis.

The anti-Semitism of the foreign press corp is Israel is legendary. Repeated instances of outright misrepresentation, distortion and staging events for the cameras are well known. The TV station - France 2 just broadcast a video of toddlers being laid out on a white sheet. The only problem was that scene occurred in 2005 when a Hamas ammunition truck exploded while on parade in Gaza.

When they speak freely, such as was heard on a BBC panel of January 7th when Robert Fisk of the INDEPENDENT gave vent to his vicious views, their bias, if not hatred comes readily apparent. He has also published his vile and false accusations. The Israeli voice on this panel (for balance), Gil Hoffman of the JERUSALEM POST was literally pushed out by the BBC announcer who said he had to leave. Hoffman said: "No, I don’t." The BBC moderator let him stay for another 10 minutes and then evicted him. Others on the panel were a clearly anti-Semitic Professor and a presenter for Al Jezzera TV.

NPR: NATIONAL "PALESTINE" RADIO

Suddenly, NPR, National Public Radio, is interested in the details of "fear from bombs". Through the years, when the Arab Muslim Palestinians were engaged in suicide bombing of Israeli marketplaces, restaurants, family celebrations, buses - wherever civilians gathered - NPR barely expressed interest in the Terror and feelings of Israeli victims. That's why they call NPR - National "Palestine" Radio.

When Hamas Palestinian Arab Muslims began its daily firing of Kassam Rockets, Katyusha Missiles and Mortars, including Grad missiles from Iran, an onslaught of Terror rained down on Southern Israel for 7 years. But, NPR showed only enough interest so it could tell Congress who funds them:

"See, we are reporting the news."

THE COSMETIC NON-SOLUTION TO GAZA

Herb Keinon's RECENT Jerusalem Post article analyzing the leftist
Israeli government tactics in Gaza was not very assuring.

True, Keinon told of this government's desire to degrade, discredit,
and remove Hamas from power in Gaza. But what Keinon doesn't discuss
is what this government intends afterward. This leftist government
wants to eliminate Hamas so it can surrender the area to Abbas's Fatah
group and then proceed to surrender Israel's Eastern territories to
them for a Palestinian Arab state.

What this government wants is a cosmetic, inconclusive settlement that
superficially looks good so that it can pose as the savior of Israel
and win the next election. Many rightly suspect that there is a great
deal of collusion going on in the background with Israel, the
Arabs, and with the US to make this happen.

DISPROPORTIONATE AGAIN

In an echo of the condemnations of the summer 2006 counterattack on Hisballah, Israel has again been condemned for its strikes against terrorist targets in Gaza. Let us be clear: there is no "occupation" of Gaza by Israeli forces; there are no settlements of Jews living there any more; terrorism is not a name for "freedom fighters" since by definition it means attacking civilian targets for political/religious or quasi political purposes and Hamas’s rockets are part of an assault against Israel’s existence. Hamas is not interested in conference induced peaceful solutions.

Article 13 of Hamas’s Charter declares: "Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion. Nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its religion. Its members have been fed on that…. There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with."

Israel has never targeted civilians; almost uniquely it has made provision to provide the other side’s people with medical and other humanitarian relief despite their constantly polling a minimum of 50% in favour of attacks on Israeli civilians. It has maintained warnings even to the extent of leaving voicemail messages to Gazans not to stay near arms placements (in their homes or elsewhere) because of future attacks. This limits the element of surprise to timing, as opposed to tactical operations, to some degree. Some of these practices may be regarded by some hard-nosed military personnel elsewhere, as excessively diligent, especially if they do not recognise the necessity of "purity of arms" doctrines. It has been well observed that "Western armies are engaged in asymmetric warfare against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Al-Qaeda in Iraq, yet no such statements are made with regard to these legitimate battles in the war on terrorism."1
